No internet is teh suck.
Watch out, this is quite a long one… I can write a lot when I have nothing else to do.
So it’s midnight and I’m at my mom’s house, about to go to bed. I collected trash early tonight and was intent on NOT sticking around. I also had to give my 8125 back today, so that means no more internet. For now, at least. Once I get my Verizon phone (which will be once I have about $400 to spare), I’ll have internet service everywhere once again, and Verizon’s network is much faster here than AT&T’s. Life on the EDGE isn’t that exciting… heh… heheh… get it? AT&T’s EDGE network which is marginally faster than dialup… oh never mind. UMTS/HSDPA isn’t here yet from the big blue globe.
My business phone comes in on Thursday, supposedly. The guy at AT&T said if I don’t have it by Friday, I should call them back with my confirmation number and they’ll tell me where the hell that phone is. For work I’ll have a Samsung C417– a basic phone with a camera and all that good stuff. My personal phone… from Verizon… that I am so anxiously awaiting… will be an LG “EnV”. You’ve probably seen that phone on TV. It has a numeric keypad and a screen on the front, but you can turn it sideways, flip it open, and you’ll be presented with a full QWERTY keyboard and another screen. It has a 2.0 megapixel camera and a MicroSD slot. I think I’ll get a great deal from Verizon on my personal phone plan. For about $100 a month I’ll have 900 minutes (more than I need), unlimited iN calling and nights and weekends, unlimited text and picture messaging to anyone on any carrier, V-Cast service and unlimited mobile internet. That is a sweet deal. I can also get a second line and a laptop mobile broadband card, which I would totally use for business purposes. Except my computer doesn’t have a PCMCIA slot… it has ExpressCard. I think there’s one that connects to USB, so I may go for that one.
Speaking of business, I had my first appointment today and made $90 for one hour of computer service. Granted, the appointment was with my former employer… and I was hit with having to give the 8125 back… but I have a check ready to go into the bank. QuickBooks is calling it “undeposited funds”. I’m going to wait to deposit anything until I get my checkbooks and debit card in the mail. I also still have to send in my articles of organization with a $40 check. And order business cards (click here for the design). And get some nice official apparel. I need to drum up some business…
I just completely lost my train of thought so I’ll call it a night. I’ll post this blog in the morning.
