Ever heard of Twitter? Ever wanted to vent there but couldn’t?
I’m sure some of you have heard of the hype behind Twitter, the microblogging service that asks “What are you doing?” and requires an answer in 140 characters or less. A lot of people use it, and I have a small herd of followers myself, including names like Brad “Sucks” Turcotte, Chris Doelle, Frank Gilroy, and Brian Shaler. (I am uncertain, however, whether or not they actually READ my tweets.) I was thinking one day a couple of months ago about those who want to say what’s really on their mind without fear of retribution. Therefore, I have created a rough clone of Twitter called TMIttr,
whose tagline is “What are you REALLY doing?” Everything is the same as Twitter: the 140 character limit, user accounts, even @replies are implemented. The only difference is TMIttr hashes your username twice and shows half of the result. Your identity is totally concealed. The concept of following is not needed here; such a thing would help to diminish the level of privacy. If you like privacy, and you also like Twitter, and you ALSO like to be slightly (or overly) controversial, TMIttr might be for you. Check it out and give me suggestions. And just in case you want to join my herd, here’s my Twitter profile.
