Some of you may remember the rackmount server I bought on eBay over Thanksgiving weekend last year. Even though it did have a short stint hosting Frag for Jesus, I still haven’t found a use for it. It’s at my house on a shelf in my closet. However, some recent developments here at the office building may change all that.

A couple of weeks ago we dropped our single static IP address for an allocation of five. Our office is using one, and the rest of the building is using another. If I can pull a few strings, I’m bringing my server up here to grab the remaining three.  I have a super long Ethernet cable somewhere, and I have an 8-port switch somewhere. I’ll really only need to use two, but I don’t have any other choice.  I can run an HTTP server, DNS server, an IRC bouncer AND a bot on this box. I must go plan!
