		<description>I am in same boat trying to upgrade my wife&#039;s v1 iphone.  At least it should allow a restore to just backed up version.  Noooo it must reach the itunes store before even revealing the restore tab.  Her phone is only good for emergency calls now.  There should always be a way to restore your iphone to the last backup even without the network.  I was headed to buy myself the new 3g version, but now wondering.

Apple please fix the restore function to no require network access.  Right click on phone in iTunes only allows &quot;eject&quot; at this point.  It should allow restore also.
