About Me
Hey what’s up. I’m Drew, the guy who runs this site. You probably don’t know me but if you’re reading this I don’t care. At least you’re reading this.
More about me? Well… I was born William Andrew Kirkman on June 10, 1988 in Owensboro, Kentucky, USA. My parents weren’t married until I was six years old, then legally changing my last name to Burden. On occasion, I’ve thought about changing it back. I’ve reached the ripe old age of 21 and my life is divided as follows: I’m a part-time server technician, part-time information systems manager, full-time geek. I still live in Owensboro. I’d like to move somewhere bigger, but I like the traffic here.
I graduated May 2006 from Owensboro High School and I’m currently out of school to pursue my career. I co-founded an Internet technology firm called Common Technologies, LLC in June 2006. Somewhere in the middle of that, I also spun off (and subsequently closed) my own business, called The Independent Geek. Common Technologies finally succumbed to the rough economy in March 2009. When I’m bored, I tend to create things that are totally useless or go stare at my car. It’s not much to stare at, and this fact has drawn ridicule to me for some reason.
I listen to music. Who doesn’t? Anyway, I listen to a lot of different things. If you email me I’ll send you a copy of my playlist so you can see what I have.
I am a professed atheist. Why? Not only is it a long story, but religion is, hands down, THE number one dividing force in society. I’d much rather be your friend without regard to whether or not my religion says I should be. I make the good points of religion (peace, love thy neighbor, be a good person, and mind your own business) a big part of my life anyway so why include all the bad things about religion (war, persecution, and overall penis envy) in it?
I’ll try to blog as often as possible, so please be on the lookout. Be warned, however, that I can use quite colorful language and talk about grown-up things in my blog, and also be warned that I may not agree with the same things you do. Deal with it. Get your own blog and you can spew your own beliefs.
