About Me
Hi. I'm Drew, and this is my site. I've done a few sites in the past, but I think this one is most definitive because it has my name on it, so here I am.
More about me? Well... I was born William Andrew Kirkman on June 10, 1988 in Owensboro, Kentucky, USA. My parents weren't married until I was six years old, then legally changing my last name to Burden. On occasion, I've thought about changing it back. I've reached the ripe old age of 20 and my life is divided as follows: I'm a part-time server technician, part-time information systems manager, full-time geek. I still live in Owensboro. I'd like to move somewhere bigger, but I like the traffic here.
I graduated May 2006 from Owensboro High School and I'm currently out of school to pursue my career. I co-founded an Internet technology firm called Common Technologies, LLC in June 2006. Somewhere in the middle of that, I also spun off (and subsequently closed) my own business, called The Independent Geek. When I'm bored, I usually hang out at the office or drive around aimlessly in my 1999 Dodge Intrepid. (I love that car.)
I listen to music. I don't listen to much as my tastes are quite closed, but I can find the occasional new jewel that I'll listen to nonstop. I'm a sucker for indie music. My favorite artist is a guy whose name is Brad. He lives in Canada and he sucks. He also rocks my pants off, but he sucks. So go listen to all his music because he rocks. But he sucks. But he only sucks because he said so, not me.
I am atheist. Why? Not only is it a long story, but religion is, hands down, THE number one dividing force in society. I'd much rather be your friend without regard to whether or not my religion says I should be. I make the good points of religion (peace, love thy neighbor, be a good person, and mind your own business) a big part of my life anyway so why include all the bad things about religion (war, persecution, and overall penis envy) in it?
I have a few other web sites of my own, and you can visit them by following the links on this site. I'll try to blog as often as possible, so please be on the lookout. Be warned, however, that I can use quite colorful language and talk about grown-up things in my blog, and also be warned that I may not agree with the same things you do. Deal with it. Get your own blog and you can spew your own beliefs.
