Bad buzz around the iPod touch

I have an iPod touch. I also have a set of dock speakers by Emerson Research to enjoy my tunes without having to plug in a pair of headphones. On top of it all, I have apps such as Pandora and AOL Radio installed on my iPod so I can listen to my Pandora station, and KKHH in Houston so I can get my Booker & Sarah fix every morning. I can’t stand using the internet radio apps with my dock speakers because of debilitating interference due to the Wi-Fi radio transmitter. It manifests itself as this horrible buzzing noise anytime the Wi-Fi radio is on, effectively decreasing my enjoyment of said tunes. This is the second iPod-enabled device I’ve had and the same thing happened to the first, but the other one was so badly put together that it eventually stopped working after about a week. What can I do to get around this? Does anyone else have this problem? And does Apple care?

Update, 9/14/08: I have just purchased a Memorex alarm clock radio/iPod dock and there’s no buzzing. Guess my other one was just a POS.

Apple must hate Linux

I’m a Linux user.

I had to hijack a Windows computer to upgrade my iPod touch to version 2.0 this weekend. And now I’m curious about MobileMe, but that didn’t last long. Wanna know why?

What gives, Apple? You could make a lot more money (and friends) if you just supported Linux. I mean, come on. You ported iTunes to Windows. How hard could it be to port to Linux? I mean, OS X is a UNIX system, just like Linux. What the hell is the holdup? And by the way, I am using Firefox 2 or later. There should be no difference.

I’m not very happy with Apple right now.

Apple fails

The iTunes Store is down, no doubt getting slammed by all those new iPhone activations today.

People can’t activate their new iPhone 3G and current iPhone/iPod touch owners can’t upgrade to 2.0. I’m one of those current owners. In lieu of going in the other room to a computer running Windows to keep trying myself, I have Summize doing the work for me. Here are some interesting tweets that I will see and post until it’s back up:
