BANG. BANG. BANG.

The quick succession of loud beats on my front door caused me to bolt out of bed at 9:15 this morning, and scramble to get my pants on. I already knew who was at the door and what they wanted.

I opened the door and in front of me stood a Daviess County sheriff’s deputy. I didn’t get his name because I had neglected to put on my glasses but in that blurry soup of my vision he looked a bit like Dr. Phil. Call me crazy.

Anyway, he handed me a piece of paper and told me something I already knew… that I had to be in court on Friday. I basically have to tell the judge what happened when I managed to get myself attacked with a box cutter and beat down last week. Man, you never know what can happen when you refuse to give a guy money for drugs. I envy you people that don’t have dads in your lives.
